Foundation Routine + Blue Eye Makeup

This morning after dropping my little girl to school I decided to publish a blog makeup tutorial.
First I was thinking about it being based on a neutral look but having a daily dose of pinterest pinning, I noticed there were so many lovely eye make-up looks for brown eyes. I'd really love to have brown eyes! But I have darkish bluey/grey eyes. So I thought i'd do a tutorial for blue eyes. As my eyes are quite a darkish shade, a full on black smoky eye not only emphasizes my bluey/grey eyes but kind of makes my face washed out, especially with my dark hair too. It just looks too much for a day time look.

So I came up with this look:
Here's where I talk you through what techniques and products I used.

This is my bare face. Freckly, dark circles and redness. Oh and I'll have to point out the obvious, my 1/2 eyebrows.

My 1st Step:

After moisturising my face with a small amount of coconut oil, I applied my Collection Lasting Perfection concealer. I dot this lightly on any blemishes, redness and my dark under eyes. I use my finger to delicately blend out the product.

My 2nd Step:

Now I will apply my Estee Lauder double wear foundation in the shade 2N1 Desert Beige. I'll only first use the excess off the lid and dot that too on points of every part of my face. And then pour a small amount on the back of my hand if I feel like I need more coverage. Doing this I use my real Techniques Expert face brush to blend the product throughout, making sure there are no patches. This liquid will dry very quickly so it needs to be worked in right away.

After I have applied the foundation.

My 3rd Step:

Now for my half non existent eye brows. I brush them through first with the pencil lid brush before drawing my eyebrow shape.

I used my Rimmel London Professional Eye-Brow Pencil to shape my eyebrows. It's so easy to draw the shape I want, and after I will brush it through so there are no harsh lines. I'm not for the thick lined eyebrows. I like them to look as natural as they can.
After I've applied the eyebrows.
(face starting to look normal)

My 4th Step:

This is where I'll start on my eyes. I decided to go for my Calvin Klein Vintage Metal. I bought this in a poundland store. £1!! And it's such a lovely shimmer.
I apply this all over my lid using my finger making sure I don't go over the crease of my eye.

My 5th Step:

A gift from my husband a few months ago and I love it, is the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette. This is such a beautiful palette, especially for blue eyes. Click the link to check out the gorgeous shades.
I picked the shade
Nooner and lightly swiped that in the crease of my lid using the brush that came with palette. Blending it into the CK eye shadow.

 My 6th Step:

Next I use the middle shade of my VIVO eyebrow palette to contour my cheek bones. I've had this for about 2 years now and it's so multi-purpose. I sometimes use it for eye brows and eye shadow too.
Again I use my real Techniques brush to blend the product under my cheek bones.

I will then apply my VIVO baked bronze healthy glow in the shade 3 to the corners of my forhead all the way around my hair line and my cheek bones. This gives a really healthy glow look.

My 7th Step:

I will now apply my Rimmel LondonStay Matte press powder to my under eye, the centre of my nose to above my nose, upper lip area (cupids bow), under my cheek bones and my chin. This highlights the face and adds more definition.

My 8th Step

Now I apply the CK eyeshadow again to my bottom eyelash line and water line using my little finger. And then applying Barry M's lip liner to my water line. I think this product may be discontinued now as I can't find it on the boots website.

My 9th Step

My next step will be to start off by curling my eyelashes with an eyelash curler. I don't always use this method, I normally just go in for the mascara. But for this occasion I will. I then apply a few coats to the top and bottom lashes of the L'oreal Paris False Last Telescopic Infinite Length Mascara in the colour hypnotic brown. I find black too intense on my face.

My 10th Step:

Now I finish my face off with blush and highlight. For blush I'm using Rimmel London in the shade Santa Rose and I'm applying that with a compact blush brush from H&M.

For highlighting my cheek bones, upper lip, nose tip and above eyebrows I'm using Benefits Watt's Up Highlighter and blending that in with my finger.

The last step:

I sometimes line my lips if I'm wearing a nude lip. Makes them look more plumpy and full. Again I used Barry M's lip liner. I line my lips and also draw lines in the lip dips to make the illusion of plumpy lips. and then I will rub it gently to fade it out.

And finished!
I hope you enjoyed my first make up tutorial. Let me know if you tried it using your favourite products.
