Sunny morning + An old train station...

What a lovely, sunny morning to go into the nearby forest and test out our new camera!

A few days ago we purchased the Canon Eos700D. The only cameras we have are our phones and they're not the greatest of quality for holiday photos, family photos etc. And I say every year I'd like to be able to take more photos of our family adventures. 

Matt did say last year before our wedding that we'd buy a good quality camera to take on our honeymoon. That idea was forgotten about... although he did take some lovely one's on his phone, but just not the greatest of quality. I know a camera is just a camera but with another little baby brewing we decided to get a nice family camera. Especially for our trip to Paris coming up this week and for baba's arrival. 

I had a little fiddle with it and watched a few tutorials on you tube which did help to understand what all the functions do. There are so many buttons and things you can do to take a great picture... well compared to my iPhone 4 anyway.

So as this morning was such a sunny one. And fresh I must add, the 3 of us decided to go for a stroll through the forest.

Matt spent many days of his childhood in this forest. Building dens and walks with his family so it was lovely to reminisce. He also told me that there used to be a train station and some of the structures remained. The old railway is now a cycle path which leads to Bath.
We've been living in this house for over a year now and I can't believe we've never had a gander through the forest. And it's only 5 minutes away. We'll certainly be exploring more in the future.

Much needed time away...

You know when you just need some head space?

Away from everyone, the busy, rushing city. And just every day life?
We decided to book a weekend away to our favourite place in Cornwall.
Perranporth.

Matt's been feeling down lately due to his dad passing away last year. It's still very raw and he's finding it hard to find closure. He does have really good days but then when they're bad.. they're bad.
With Matt it's never in the middle. It's normally set off by a bad dream.
And then he'll be down for days.
He had a heart to heart with his colleague in the week and suggested a bit of time away for some head space. So he booked 2 nights at our favourite B&B called Ligger View which we've been visiting since 2011, when I was first pregnant with Rose. Our room over looks the small little town of Perranporth, the gorgeous, long beach and the best sea waves in Cornwall.
I think in years from now, we'll retire here.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation - Review

Amen to this product!

 I've been wanting it for so long but never really had the guts to fork out £40 odd quid for it..

However me and my husband were walking through Swindon outlet to buy each other Christmas presents. He knew what he wanted but what on earth did I want...

'I'll tell you what I wanted, what I really, really wanted' (breaking into song. I love spicegirls)

We walked by this small makeup store and there I saw it... This foundation everyone is raving about, and on discount too!!

It was so tempting to open this and try it out before I was allowed. Matt knew me too well and he had to hide it away for Santa to give to me on Christmas day.
I don't really have any blemishes on my face due to genetics and taking care of my face surface with natural oils. So really this product wasn't used to it's full potential on my face. But I do have dark circles under my eyes also due to genetics. Annoying.

Vitamin E cream from boots own really helps which I apply every night. That's really the only reason I wanted Estee Lauder's Double wear Foundation. To see what it could do for my dark circles and be able to blend throughout onto my face.I just love it when I don't wear foundation, don't wear my glasses and people ask me if I'm feeling well..... makes me feel really great about my self.

The day finally came... eager to try it out I straight away got in the shower, ex-foliate my face and applied it. I've had it now for a month and a bit so I'll tell you what I thought:
When I first untwisted the lid I was expecting the no pump business which other reviewers have a problem with. To be honest I much prefer it. I used it with my real techniques stippling brush which is awesome to apply foundation easily.

I did apply a little too much on my first go I think, s it's quite a thick coverage. I'm sure all first time users look like a cake when they first apply it.
Throughout the hours of the day and with out having to apply a powder to set the foundation it was brilliant.
This is the coverage for acne skin. This was mind blowing.

Okay now for the PROS and CONS.

Pros:

• Has a range of colours and tones to suit any skin tone. As shown in the colour chart above..
• It's buildable. For a more natural look you really only need the tiniest blob. and I mean tiny. And for more of a coverage you can gradually build it up. I'd advise on the gradually part..
• It removes easily at the end of the day.
• Feels very satin on the skin... almost forgetting you have it on.
• After exfoliating it blends really nice.

Cons:

• Umm
• Really, the only con is that you do need to kind of suss out how to work it into your type of skin type.

Advisable Steps I've learnt:

1. Exfoliate the skin surface. With a rough scrub or flannel. In circular motions rub the dead/winter skin off. (May get a little red)
2. Use a moisturizing face cream or oil. And leave that to sink in..
3. I use primer maybe 20% of the time. That's optional to however big you pores may be.
4. Take the tiniest bit from the excess on the rim on the bottle and share that throughout your face. Forehead, temples, under eye, cheek bones, lower cheek, nose and chin.
5. Blend it however you wish. Fingers work great also.
6. Build up however you wish to have it. But warning it can get very cakey the my you apply. Try not to get excited and go overboard. 
7. It's crucial and everyone should know... blend it into your jaw line and into your neck. The mask look isn't good.
    

Overall... I love this product. It makes me feel done, if you know what I mean.

To start off...

This has been debatable for a very long time. 

Starting my own blog and talking about this and that?

Who's interested?..

Who cares about what one person out of this huge world would have to say..?

Apparently many. 

So here I go, starting by introducing myself..

My name is Charleigh. Pronounced as Charlie... NOT Sharlie.
I used to think my name was odd and I'd often question my mum on her choice of name for me.
Her first choice of name was Romany. Very gypsy I know...
My mum and dad took a bet on horse racing. Mum's horse was called Romany King, which explains the name. She liked it so much that she said to my dad that if the horse came in first she would like to call me after it. Dad really didn't like the name. And even when mum's horse came in first he still wouldn't agree on the name. So Charleigh it was. I tell you what, I found it so difficult to learn how to actually spell my name. I think I was last in class.

 My age.. ? It's true what they say.. You do forget your age when your age finally catches up with you. If my lifespan was physically seen, i'd have life stretch marks... I've had to grow up fast and quick. Even before becoming a teenager.

To jump to the point, i'm 23. However, when your friends are all out, still partying, spending their full time wage on expensive bags and cars, talking about the men and women they're sleeping with or dating, it makes you feel old when you've settled down and had children of your own.

I live in the south west of 'Great' Britain. Don't get me wrong it's a great place to live but slowly it's turning to... to shit. Can I say that? But I won't get into that by getting too aggravated on my introduction post.

 I've been recently married to my school friend Matthew. We've been together for nearly 7 years now and we have a a beautiful, intelligent little girl together called Rose-Marie. She's recently turned 3. And i'm currently in my 3rd trimester of pregnancy with our second child which we've found out is a boy! Which we're very chuffed about! 2 children, a boy and girl... We're very lucky! 

So the content of this blog? I guess everything... I can be very hidden and quiet at times. And it's normally when things are going through my head. My childhood, who my friends really are, family dilemmas and if i'm the best I can be.. So to write about how things are and what's going on will let me avoid unloading on the wrong people. (Which I do a lot).

I seem to keep a lot bottled up and then explode.

This blog won't just be about me and my life but what's going on in the world we live in, other people's dilemmas and reviews.

I'm just your average english, full-time mother and wife with a lot going through her head.
